For councils, community groups & local organisers
Community fun day & fête equipment hire
Bring your neighbourhood together with space for the stalls, a stage for local talent and activities for a day out. SMH Events supplies event equipment across London, Essex and Kent, with delivery, installation and collection arrangements agreed for your venue.

A covered stage from the SMH equipment range.
Bring the right equipment together
Start with the areas your event needs. You can combine equipment from different categories in one hire enquiry.
A focus for performances
Give community performers, presentations and announcements a dedicated area. Tell us the programme, required stage size and access needs.

A fête with several stallholders needs a different layout from a fun day centred on performances. A simple sketch and running order help us put the right hire list together.
01
Map the main areas
Mark the stage, stalls, refreshments, activities and entrances. Share the usable space and any access routes your venue needs to keep clear.
02
Separate public opening from setup
Tell us when vehicles can enter, when exhibitors arrive and when the public gates open. Include collection access after visitors have left.
03
Agree the equipment brief
Send estimated attendance, your budget and a list of essentials. We can discuss the sizes and quantities before preparing your quote.
For village greens, parks and community venues
Tell us whether the site is grass or hardstanding, how vehicles reach it and what power is available. Include your venue contact and any restrictions they have supplied, so installation requirements can be discussed before you book.
We cover London, Essex and Kent, with enquiries also welcome for Surrey, Hertfordshire and Suffolk. Send your event postcode so we can discuss delivery and collection for your venue.
Useful answers before you enquire
Can we hire for a small community event?
Send the date, venue and equipment list, even if you only need a few items. Delivery, collection and any small-order charge are confirmed in your quote.
Can we combine a stage, gazebos and seating?
Yes. Add equipment from the different hire categories to one basket, or send us your plan through the contact page. Availability and the final combination are confirmed for your dates.
What happens if the weather changes?
Discuss covered areas and alternative arrangements during planning. Outdoor equipment has operating limits; weather arrangements and any resulting changes must be agreed for the equipment and site.
What should we send for a quote?
Include your event date, postcode, opening times, setup access, estimated attendance and equipment requirements. A site sketch and a working budget are useful too.
